The mission of the Dusty Richardel Memorial Foundation is to reach out and recognize local high school seniors who aspire to pursue careers in the Blue-collar workforce not requiring college degrees, by providing a monetary award as a resource in the start of their career.
To be Louisiana’s leading organization in providing support and funding of scholarships for high school seniors pursuing a career in the Blue-collar workforce.
It is important to keep Dusty’s spirit alive and have him remembered in a positive way. Dusty’s carpentry career did not follow the path to college but those who knew him could appreciate his aspirations in life. As a young adult, he had tremendous initiative and a strong work ethic. His four years of hands-on experience taught him the skills necessary to become a talented carpenter.
By helping Louisiana high-school seniors who are either going to a technical/vocational school, or going straight to work after graduation, we can honor those students, like Dusty, who would otherwise have no assistance with the start of their new careers.
